J. Kyle Bass

J. Kyle Bass born in 1969 serves as the Founder and Chief Investment Officer at Hayman Capital Management, a firm specializing in managing private funds that target global event-driven investment opportunities. Additionally, he holds the positions of Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Conservation Equity Management, an environmental sustainability-focused private equity firm that was established in 2021.

Mr. Bass is a distinguished Life Member of the Council on Foreign Relations and was honored with the 2019 Foreign Policy Association Medal in recognition of his responsible and impactful approach to international affairs. He has also shared his expertise as a witness before prominent entities such as the U.S. House of Representatives, the U.S. Senate, and the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission.

As an esteemed lecturer, Mr. Bass has delivered insightful presentations on a range of subjects including global economics, national security, geopolitics, and the intricate workings of the Chinese financial system. His lectures have been held at prestigious institutions including Columbia, Yale, Harvard, Stanford, UC Berkeley, the University of Texas, and the University of Virginia.

Mr. Bass held the esteemed role of Chair of the Risk Committee on the Board of Directors of the University of Texas Investment Management Company (UTIMCO), a significant institution managing assets totaling around $65 billion.

Prior to his current endeavors, Mr. Bass gained extensive experience as a Managing Director at Legg Mason and later as a Senior Managing Director at Bear Stearns. He completed his academic pursuits at Texas Christian University, earning a degree in finance.

Mr. Bass actively contributes his insights and perspectives to various organizations. He serves as an Advisory Board member at the Hudson Institute’s China Center, an Executive Advisory Board member at the George W. Bush Presidential Center, and an Investment Advisory Board member for RIA NewEdge Wealth. His commitment extends to the Texas Wildlife Association Foundation, Texas Department of Public Safety Foundation, Melinda’s Foods, and The Quad Fund, where he holds board positions.
